Guide to jailbreaking your iPhone running iOS 11 & iOS 10 - Download Latest Pangu application For jailbreak

Guide to jailbreaking your iPhone running iOS 11 & iOS 10 - Download Latest Pangu application For jailbreak

Jailbreaking is an essential part of the iOS experience for many. For others, it’s unknown and dangerous. Thankfully, for those old and new to jailbreaking, there are multitude of ways to do it. Using tools such as Yalu102 and zJailbreak, jailbreaking is not only faster than ever, but also easier. Whether you’re a hardened veteran of jailbreaking, or if this is your first time trying it, this guide will help you jailbreak your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

What is jailbreaking?

First and foremost, let’s take a moment to remember this guide is not a guarantee that you will successfully jailbreak your iPhone, iPod, or iPad. When dealing with something like a jailbreak, there is always a small chance something could go wrong with your phone, and we cannot be responsible for this. However, jailbreaking, especially with Pangu is extremely easy and you should be perfectly fine.

To ‘jailbreak’ your iPhone means you are freeing it from the limitations imposed by Apple. Freeing a device means that it can install applications from outside Apple’s iTunes App Store and you can fiddle with previously restricted aspects of an iOS device. Jailbreaking can also help you unlock your iPhone to make it available on other carriers.
To jailbreak your device, you’ll need a computer, your iOS, and your iOS cable. Most jailbreaks are compatible with any device capable of receiving the iOS 10, iOS 10.1, or iOS 10.2 updates, so if Apple has prompted you to update, then you can go ahead and follow this guide

Backing up your precious data

When it comes to jailbreaking a device, it’s always best to backup while you can. iTunes should automatically backup your device every time you plug it in. Be sure to run a backup of your device before beginning the jailbreak process so that all your precious music, apps, movies, and everything in between are successfully stored on your computer. That way, once you complete the jailbreak process, you can run a restore and get everything back. Just make sure you’ve plugged into iTunes recently and synced your device. Running a sync will backup your device by default.

Starting the jailbreak process

In order to actually start the jailbreak process, you need to first update your device to the latest version of iOS. In this case, it’ll be either iOS 10.2 for a full jailbreak, or iOS 10.2.1 for a semi jailbreak (in which you get partial access to jailbreak features). That said, you currently cannot get a full jailbreak if you have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.2 or iOS 10.2.1. You can use iTunes to manage your update, or use the more convenient OTA (over-the-air) update your device offers you (Settings > General > Software Update).

Once you plug in your device to iTunes, it’ll prompt you to download and run the iOS update for your device. If you want the full jailbreak for iOS 10.2, however, don’t update. Furthermore, if you haven’t already updated to the latest version of iTunes, then you should do that as well. If your device is not jailbroken, then you will update to iOS 10.2.1 without any problems. If your device is jailbroken, iOS will fail to complete the update and force into recovery mode. Don’t Panic! Simply let iTunes run a recovery with the latest version of iOS 10.2.1. Once completed, the device will have been reset to factory settings, but with iOS 10.2.1.
In either case, do not sync your device just yet. Instead, quickly set up your device with Wi-Fi, your Apple ID, and everything else it prompts you with. You can also skip these for now and get back to them later. Make sure you get to the home screen before continuing.

Getting cozy with zJailbreak and Yalu102

For iOS 10.2 and 10.2.1’s semi jailbreak

For this next step, you don’t need a computer at all — just the iOS device you want jailbroken. Just to be safe, reboot your device.

  1. Once rebooted, open a browser on your device and go to http://pangu8.com/jailbreak/10.2/#zJailbreak.
  2. Tap the “Install zJailbreak” button at the bottom of the page, and allow the software to check your device for compatibility. Provided you’re running some iteration of iOS 10.2, you should be fine.
  3. After you’re deemed worthy, the page should automatically redirect you to an installation menu.
  4. Once on the install screen, enter your passcode (if you have one) to install the app.
Once the app is installed, you can use it to install other jailbreak app stores, such as Cydia and iOS Emus.

For the full iOS 10.2 jailbreak

The jailbreak method outlined below only works for the following iOS devices:
iPhoneiPod touchiPod MiniiPad Air
iPhone 5S6th generationiPad Mini 2iPad Air
iPhone 6iPad Mini 3iPad Air 2
iPhone 6 PlusiPad Pro
iPhone 6S
iPhone 6S
iPhone 6S Plus
iPhone SE

Windows and MacOS users should start by going to their computer and downloading two things: the Yalu102 ipa file and Cydia Impactor. Make sure both are on your desktop.
  1. On your iOS device, turn off Touch ID and your passcode. Then, disable Find My iPhone.
  2. Open the Cydia Impactor tool and connect your device to your computer.
  3. Drag the IPA file from earlier into Cydia Impactor.
  4. Sign into your Apple account with your Apple ID and password when prompted to do so. Wait for the Yalu102 ipa to be accepted, and for the app to be installed.
  5. Don’t open the app just yet. Instead, go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management. Then, find the Yalu102 app and tap “Trust” to enable it.
  6. Finally, open the Yalu102 app and press “Go” to begin the jailbreaking process. Your device will restart. After it reboots and brings up the home screen, you should see the Cydia app. If Cydia wasn’t properly installed after restarting your device, open the Yalu102 app and tap “Go” again.

Restoring your device from iTunes

Once you’ve completed the actual jailbreak process, it’s important you take the time to restore all your precious data back onto your iOS device. If you haven’t jailbroken your device before, you may not need to do this as your device will have carried over all your data in the jailbreak process. If you have jailbroken your device before, then this will be necessary as you’ll have to do a recovery to get your device to update.

Simply plug your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch back into iTunes, and it will do the rest. By the time your restore is finished iTunes should have successfully placed all your apps, music, photos, and precious data where it belongs.

Do a victory dance!

Congratulations! You’ve done it! Whether your victory dance involves Tebowing or not is up to you, but you have successfully completed the jailbreak and restore process for your iOS device! Be sure to run Cydia and check out all the amazing new apps and tools you can use!
Jailbreaking your iOS device is easier than ever, and if you’re an advanced user, it can be a lot of fun to unleash the true potential of your iPhone or iPad. Despite what Apple claims to be the risks of jailbreaking, it’s an option you should always consider to get the most out of your iOS device. We hope this guide has helped you find your way to the world of jailbreaking!

How to jailbreak an iPhone or iPad in iOS 11 or iOS 10

How to jailbreak an iPhone or iPad in iOS 11 or iOS 10

If you're sick of being limited to Apple-approved apps, have you consider jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad? Here's how to jailbreak in iOS 10, along with the latest iOS 11 jailbreak news.

Jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad is a risky process that we can't unreservedly recommend, but it remains popular among those who wish to install unofficial apps and tweaks on their smartphone or tablet via the Cydia marketplace. Here's all we know about the iOS 11 jailbreak, along with how to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad in iOS 10.
(What is jailbreaking? In essence, it means bypassing the locks put in place by Apple on its iPhones and iPads and thus gaining access to a large number of apps that Apple hasn't authorised. For explanations of this and many, many more Apple-related terms, see our Apple jargon-buster encyclopedia.)

iPhone Jailbreak warning

Some of the unofficial apps that you'll gain access to after jailbreaking are pretty tempting, and may offer features you'd never otherwise be able to access, but be weary; jailbreaking your iPhone and installing tweaks and apps from disreputable sources may lead to hackers being able to access your iPhone. We recommend only using reputable sources, such as those pre-loaded in Cydia, and staying away from any pirated repositories – it may be tempting to download tweaks for free, but you might be handing over access to all your personal information at the same time!
Apple itself offers advice on the subject of jailbreaking (although you may feel that the company is biased in this respect since it wants to continue getting its cut of the revenue from official app sales). In this tech note, Apple suggests that jailbreaking your iOS device may lead to security vulnerabilities, instability, shortened battery life, unreliability, disruption of services and inability to apply future software updates. It may result in Apple denying service for your device.

Nonetheless, many Apple fans have been jailbreaking iOS devices for years without encountering these issues. But once they've jailbroken such a device, they understand that they should expect no help from Apple if it causes them trouble in the future. With choice comes responsibility.
If you've got your heart set on jailbreaking, take a look at our top jailbreaking safety and security tips.

iOS 11 Jailbreak news

If you've been waiting for an iOS 11 jailbreak, we've got good news - it's possible. The bad news? It's not available to the public at the moment, and it's unclear as to whether it ever will be.

Liang Chen of Tencent Keen lab demonstrated an iPhone X jailbreak (running iOS 11.1.1) at POC 2017, a well-known security and hacking conference that takes place in South Korea. This follows Chen's demos earlier this year, showcasing a functional jailbreak of both iOS 11 b2 and iOS 10.3.2.

How to jailbreak an iPhone or iPad running iOS 10.2

So, if you want to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad running iOS 10.2, you’ll have to use the recently released Yalu jailbreak, however it’s not all smooth sailing. Unlike with other jailbreaks, the developer has flagged the Yalu jailbreak as being an alpha build, meaning there might be issues on your device. Proceed if you desire, or you can hold off for now and wait for a more stable build to be released in the coming weeks.
Also, the jailbreak only supports certain devices:
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPad Pro
  • iPhone SE
For those with an iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPad Pro or iPhone SE, follow these instructions to jailbreak your iOS device running iOS 10.2.
1) The first step is to download the tools required – you can download the Yalu Jailbreak IPA for iOS 10.2 from here (named yalu102_alpha.ipa at the time of writing), and you can grab the appropriate version of Cydia Impactor (Mac, Windows, Linux) from here.

2) Unzip the Cydia Impactor file you downloaded above, and run it.
3) Once Cydia Impactor is running, connect the iOS device you want to jailbreak to your Mac/PC using the supplied Lightning cable. It should be automatically recognised by the app.
4) Once your iOS device is connected, drag yalu102_alpha.ipa (the Yalu jailbreak IPA) into the Cydia Impactor app, click the ‘Start’ button and click ‘OK’ when an Apple Developer Warning appears.
5) The next step is to ‘sign’ the app using an Apple ID – the developers assure users that the information is used only for signing the app and nothing more, but those who want to be more secure can opt for a secondary Apple ID. Anyway, input your Apple ID email address, click ‘OK’, then input your Apple ID password and click ‘OK’.

6) Cydia Impactor should then automatically prepare everything based on your input, and sign the IPA file. If all goes well, the Yalu app should then be installed on your iOS device.
7) On your iOS device, open the Settings menu and head to General > Profiles & Device Management. Tap the profile named as the Apple ID you signed in using the Cydia Impactor app and make sure you establish it as a trusted developer by tapping Trust.
8) Open the newly installed Yalu app (labelled yalu102) on your iOS device and press the Go button to initiate the jailbreak.
9) Wait while the jailbreak payload is injected into the device – this may take some time, and it’s important that you don’t touch your iOS device during this process. The screen will go white, then will reboot once the jailbreak has been completed.
